Bit Depth

The number of bits used to define the shade or colour of each pixel in an image. A 1-bit image is black and white, an 8-bit grayscale image provides 256 shades of grey, an 8-bit colour image provides 256 colours, and a 24-bit image provides over 16 million colours (8 bits for red, 8 for blue, and 8 for green).

Bounding Box

In computer vision image applications, the smallest regular shaped box that encloses an object, usually rectangular in shape.

Brightness

The overall intensity of an image. The lower the brightness value, the darker the image, the higher the value, the lighter the image.
