Absorption

Dissipation of the light energy into other forms (e.g. heat) as a result of its interaction with gemstone. It causes a decrease in directional transmittance of incident light radiation.

Ambient Light

The available light in a room, either natural or artificially introduced. Ambient light plays a role in how colours are displayed on screen and in print, and [lays a critical factor when judging colour.
